So, I have been really thinking long and hard over this post. The most I have spent to date. Maybe this has been an issue that needs some time for major reflection and meditation. Maybe it has been a test of true patience.

I tend to believe I am, on average, a fairly patient person. Now I do have my times where patience runs thin. (I must confess or my loving wife will call me out in public).

But, in all honesty, I think patience is something we’ll deal with to one degree or another at some point in our lives. (some of us more frequently than others) Most times our patience is tested and tried when we are in a hurry and need something done immediately. Is this not normally the scenario? On the flip side, we have all the time on our hands when we are not in a hurry or have some time to kill.

I think it is important as Christians that we practice patience. We need to delegate our time more wisely, organize our schedules better, and think ahead when we plan trips, outings, or socials. We need to excel far above the bar that has been set before us and model our lives in such a manner that patience is in supply and not evaporating.

Colossians 1:11 – being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience

1 Timothy 5:14 – And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone

James 5:7 – Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains

Revelation 1:19 – I know your deeds, your love and faith, your service and perseverance, and that you are now doing more than you did at first.
